Can't embed media

Jul 21, 2013 at 5:50 AM
So I just installed the latest ckeditor on my dnn 7.0.4 and I was all excited about the 'Embed Media..' button.. but when I paste a Youtube link in the pop-up window and click the OK button, nothing happens.. tried with ie10 and chrome with a few different links.. same thing..

What could be the problem?

Can you post some sample urls i know the embed feature for youtube. Currently every link works that i tested with IE and chrome. But i could switch to a different technique to retrieve the embed code.

Short youtube links don't work either.

Tested vimeo, it works.

Tested Firefox too and another site within the same dnn install same results.
Is there any setting or enabling that needs to be done for youtube?

Try the updated 2.00.7 Beta 8.

https://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com/releases/view/108895

and make sure to clear the browser cache.

Sorry if this issue has been addresses but I have just changed over the CK Editor and testing. Love it so far.

Installed 2.0.11 on a DNN 7.2.0 site. I'm assuming that this isn't the CKE version that is under the covers. Also see an option and how to upgrade to latest version and doing so may be my fix. I'm finding that media won't embed properly and that the cause is that the editor is stripping the http: from the url in the iframe.

eg. src=//link What have I missed?

This is Not an Issue the urls Need to be without protocol, in order to work on secure and insecure sites. These links are valide links.

Thanks. If it is not there I get a 404 error. If I add the protocol in it works.

Well it beats me. Tested on all browsers.

This works
<iframe allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" frameborder="0" height="349" scrolling="no" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/-DpWM8Pej1w?wmode=transparent&amp;jqoemcache=m2PdP" style="" width="640"></iframe>
This throws a 404.

Did you make the tests in dnn?

Yes DNN 7.2.0

Have only recently installed CKEditor. Might run the instal again as a repair.
