2.00.09 Broken?

Feb 8, 2014 at 10:16 PM
Build 2.00.09 for DNN seems to be broken. I can't get it to work on a new DNN 7.x install. It just doesn't display the editor. 2.00.08 seems to work fine.

This is the first time I had a look at this and I thought I was doing something wrong. It looks very nice though when it works! Thanks!

Are you getting any Javascript errors in the Browser Console?
Feb 9, 2014 at 4:07 PM
I just installed 2.0.9 as well and I get the same thing. The editor simply does not show up. I do not see any errors. The compare verisions box will come up, but it will not show the main editing windows.

So, I just tried to uninstall 2.0.9 so I could try 2.0.8 and I got to uninstall OK, but when I tried to install 2.0.8 it gave me an error that a newer version already exists.... Any idea how I make DNN forget about 2.0.9? It no longer shows up in the providers section on the host extensions menu....

You need to uninstall both the provider and the config module.

OK, I got the 2.0.9 version uninstalled and the 2.0.8 installed. This version works and the editor now shows up! It also looks like an awesome editor!

One problem still... I press the 'source" button and it converts to the HTML source view, the problem is that I can't get it to go back into edit mode. Pressing the source button again does nothing and I don't see another way to switch back. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for all the help....

I didn't take a look at the Browser Console, sorry.
I tried an existing install 2.00.09 in a brand new install of DNN 07.02.01 and an existing site that was running 07.02 and got the exact same results in both - no editor window at all, but there we refresh editor links and a config link if I recall correctly.

I was able to install 2.00.08 and it is now running on a production server just fine. Looks like a great editor and solved all kinds of problems I had with the rad editor. Thank you so much!

Please do not use 2.00.08 in production there is a major security issue, which is fixed in 09. Please wait until i release an updated version.

New Version is online now 2.00.10 issue should be fixed. You need to clear the browser cache after installing the new version.

I got 2.0.10 installed and it works great! The code button now works properly as well.

Thank you! Looks like a great editor.

Thanks tha_watcha.

Installed and has solved the original issue. However, I still get 2 exceptions reported from the page when using CKEditor, I don't get them using the out the box DNN RadEditor.

For general editing of HTML module content it's doesn't appear to cause any undesirable effects but when using the CKEditor within another module, in my case EasyDNNNews it appears to break much of the javascript in that page.
Object doesn't support property or method 'dialog'
File: dnn.jquery.js, Line: 90, Column: 17
As I get these errors with the HTML module and I do not get these errors with the DNN RadEditor I can only conclude that this is caused somewhere in CKEditor.

jacobsmc, I get the same results here with EasyDNN News... breaks a lot of the functionality such as uploading pics and using SEO settings.
Did earlier versions of the editor work ok with EasyDNN News? I sure hope this can be fixed. I am pretty desperate to get an editor working. The Rad editor was just now sufficient at all for a blogging site with multiple authors.

The editor seems to be fantastic... now if everything will play together nicely. :-D

Turns out the jquery loading has changed in dnn 7.2, fixed BETA Version 2.0.11 is online. The errors should be gone now.

2.0.11 BETA seems to have fixed all the issues I had here. Works great so far. Thank you!!!
