Strange garbage inserted when editing image

So I've just recently started seeing this happen. I was asked to update a graphic. The location of the new and old file are the same, just a different graphic name. Here is what happens. The original html looked like this:

--<p style="text-align: center;"><img alt="" src="/portals/0/offices.png" /></p>--

I went in to CKEditor in source view, changed the file name from offices.png to office.png, clicked out of source to make sure the image loaded and I see the broken link image. Go back in to source and this is what happened:

--<p style="text-align: center;"><img alt="" src="/portals/0/office{C}<!--cke_bookmark_100S-->{C}<!--cke_bookmark_100E-->.png" /></p>--

I have never seen this before. I make changes on this site all of the time. It just recently started doing this. Any ideas? This is nuts.

Thanks!

This is appears to be another bug with the protect source feature in the editor, at the moment caused by the text selection plugin.

Until this bug is fixed in the editor, the only workaround would be to remove the textselection plugin from the editor via the options under Editor Config > ExtraPlugins

Thanks Ingo. What is this plugin for? Just if you have something selected in html and switch to wysiwyg it stays selected?

Correct it keeps the cursor position, and if something is selected the selection.
